Founded in 1834 by Henry L. Archbold and officially incorporated in 1866, the village has a rich history that traces its roots back to the construction of the Wabash and Erie Canal. Archbold’s economy is diverse, and includes agriculture, industry, and retail, with a notable presence in furniture production and various industrial activities. The Archbold Area Schools serve the local community, providing education at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels.
